Company History
Habitat for Humanity Lake County’s mission, since its’ inception in 2000, has been to offer a hand up, not a hand out, to low-income and very low-income families in improving their housing situations. Founded by a group of dedicated county citizens, HfH Lake County is committed to the elimination of sub-standard, poverty housing throughout our communities.
Through our homebuilding program, Brush of Kindness repair program, and Veteran’s repair program, we have helped numerous families throughout Lake County to have safe, decent places to live, improving the well-being of the families as well as the community as a whole.
HfH Lake County serves the entire area of the county, which has a current population of ~65,000. The need for affordable housing in Lake County is great as the county ranks has a high rate of unemployment and one of the lowest in household income levels in the state of California. These factors make the dream of homeownership, and the ability to adequately maintain homes, unattainable to many residents. We are here to help.
Relying heavily on volunteers, donations, and other contributions from our community in order to serve our population best, we strive to better the living conditions of the residents of Lake County. We are continuously seeking the generosity of our community members in order to aid those who need safe and decent housing. Together we can make a difference not only for the families whose lives we touch but to the welfare and stability of Lake County.
